Beatrice Amblard, Product Designer
CONTRIBUTOR
French born Beatrice Amblard has more than 25 years of experience as a master leather artisan. At just 16 years of age, Beatrice enrolled in the prestigious Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris. Immediately after graduation she was hired by Hermes in Paris as an apprentice leather artisan. In 1987 -- after having worked on the infamous “Kelly” bag and designing custom leather goods for fourteen years -- Béatrice launched her own line, April in Paris and opened a boutique and workshop on Clement Street, San Francisco. In 2012 Beatrice launched an exciting new venture: the Amblard Leather Atelier, where she teaches the traditional art of leather working using the same tools that have been used for centuries.
